Fire Marshal



The City of Andrews Fire Marshal’s Office was created in 1938. The primary task of the City of Andrews Fire Marshal’s office is to minimize fire and life safety threats and to investigate all fires within the City of Andrews. The City of Andrews is currently regulated under the 2015 International Fire Code. All new large and commercial construction along with existing buildings changing occupancy type shall meet the requirements of the 2015 International Fire Code.

It is the objective of the City of Andrews Fire Marshal’s Office to maintain and build sound relationships with the State Fire Marshal’s Office, local volunteer fire department, police department, and other fire inspection and investigative agencies throughout the state to keep our community up-to-date on prevention, inspection, and investigative practices.

The City of Andrews Fire Marshal assists the Andrews Public Safety Department in cases related to arson. 

Fire Marshal H.W. Andreux “Drew” Garrett is Certified by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection as a Fire Inspector (TCFP#143809), and Fire Investigator (TCFP#154784), and is a member of the Texas Fire Marshals’ Association (TFMA) and the West Texas Fire/Arson Investigators Association (WTFAIA). Dreux Garrett is a native of Andrews and since March 2009 serves as the City of Andrews Code Compliance Inspector.
