The City of Andrews provides police services for approximately 13,245 residents. 

The Andrews Police Department consists of a staff of 21 employees:

Police Personnel

  • Chief of Police
  • 1 Asst. Police Chief
  • 1 Patrol Lieutenant
  • 1 Operation Lieutenant
  • 4 Patrol Sergeants (1 assigned as K-9 unit)
  • 1 Detective Sergeant
  • 1 Detective
  • 8 patrol officers
  • 2 School Resource Officers
  • 1 Administrative Assistant/Records Clerk/Property Room Assistant 

Officers are assigned to various duties within the Department, including:

  • Crime Prevention
  • Investigation of crimes and accidents
  • Maintenance of records
  • Training

The School Resource Officers works through an inter-local agreement between the City and Andrews ISD. The daily appearance at the schools help maintain peace and stability on all school grounds.

The Police Department provides a supportive role to Emergency Medical Services (EMS). All officers are required to obtain and maintain a certification in Emergency Services as an Emergency Medical Technician.
