Teen Court

Justice for Teens by Teens

Teen Court is a program that offers teenage offenders between the ages of 14-17 (or 18 if still in school) an important second chance - a chance to learn from their mistakes without the high cost and stigma of a criminal record. Class C misdemeanor cases in Municipal Court, where the respondent has plead 'Guilty' or 'No Contest' will be given an opportunity to have their case dismissed through Teen Court program. Respondents must agree to abide by the Teen Jury's decision regarding a set range of Community Service hours and Jury Terms to perform.

Hearings are confidential and are closed to the public. Students younger than 17 are required to appear with a parent or guardian.

Applications are available online or you may request one from Municipal Court or from Mrs. Williamson at the Andrews High School. The next training session may take place in August of 2022 at City Hall. Please make sure you have given Mrs. Williamson your completed application at least one week prior to this date to be considered.
