Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFR)

ANNUAL COMPREHENSIVE FINANCIAL REPORTS

Local ordinance and state statues require that a Annual Comprehensive Financial Report is submitted for the fiscal year end.  These ordinances and statues require that the City issue a financial report on its financial position and activity, and that an independent firm of certified accountants audit this report.

The purpose of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) is to provide accurate and meaningful information concerning the City’s financial condition and performance.  Independent auditors have verified that the City has fairly presented its financial position, in all material respects, in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America.

The Certificate of Achievement for "Excellence in Financial Reporting" has been awarded to the City of Andrews by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its 2022 annual comprehensive financial report (ACFR). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. This represents forty (43) consecutive years that the City of Andrews has received this award!
