Enhancing Quality of Life in the 21st Century

The Inspection Department has a vast number of duties and responsibilities to perform. This department, headed by Bert Lopez, consists of Building Inspection and Code Enforcement Issues. Bert’s number one goal is to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the people in our community.
The overall goal of the Building Inspector is to ensure that all construction including electrical, plumbing, gas and mechanical work is being performed in accordance with Federal, State and Local codes. Before beginning any construction, citizens are urged to talk to Bert to get any necessary permits and take care of necessary paperwork for approval from the Zoning Board.
Another area responsibility for the Inspection Department is “Code Enforcement”. Code Enforcement encompasses many areas including the dilapidated structures, vehicles, high weeds and brush as well as soil contamination from chemicals such as motor oil, antifreeze and sewage. A proactive approach has been enacted to ensure "Pride in Andrews” is followed thru by local home owners. If you feel there as an area that may need attention, please notify Sara Copeland at the City Hall, 432-523-4820.
