Sanitation / Landfill

The Sanitation Division plays an integral role in the beautification of the city by ensuring public safety and well being through timely, professional collection and disposal of garbage. Garbage is collected in shared dumpsters located in the alley and is collected twice a week to residents and commercial accounts; however, businesses have the option for additional collection days.

SOLID WASTE SERVICES:
Garbage collection is included on your water bill. All residential and commercial establishments are required to pay the trash collection and landfill dumping fees as provided by City Ordinance.

Alley Pick Ups
As a courtesy, the City provides alley pickup for tree limbs and discarded household items. Construction debris, tires and/or automotive parts are not included in this service.  Since this is a courtesy service, we cannot guarantee when items will be picked up.  If you are unable to haul items to the landfill yourself, you may contact City Hall and request to be placed on our work order waiting list.

UNACCEPTABLE ITEM IN DUMPSTER:
Soil, Sod (Grass), and Tree Limbs (only small twigs), Construction Debris (Bricks, Concrete, Sheetrock, or any Building Materials), Hazardous Materials (Oil, Filters, Paint or other household chemicals), and Dead Animals.

Any item placed in the alley for pick up by city personnel should be placed behind your property... not next to the dumpster or on your neighbors property. Limbs should be cut to a maximum length of 4 feet. Limbs over 4" in diameter will not be picked up by city personnel. They should be taken directly to the landfill.

Keep your alley clear of junk and debris.

Use Dumpsters... Don't be a Litter Bug!
Mow regularly to promote pride in your property.
Place your address on the front of your home and on your back fence to assist with City Services.

The City Landfill is an approved landfill by Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) as an Arid Exempt Landfill.  We have two (2) pits:

Type I - designated for residential and commercial waste
