AVFD is best known for its quick response time between the time the call is dispatched and the volunteers leave the fire station with the required fire truck(s).  All fire departments are rated on this, as well as their equipment, training and the city's infrastructure, to arrive at an ISO rating between 1 and 10 - with 10 being the worst.  Considering Andrews has a volunteer staff versus a paid staff, our ISO rating is considered excellent:
