"Project Halo" was enacted to provide and distribute free helmets to all bicycle and skate board riders. This safety measure was taken to further safe guard our youth from major problems should an accident occur. The bicycle safety program is shown at the health fairs and the elementary schools. |
Gun Safety kits are available free of charge from the City of Andrews Department of Public Safety. These are given freely to promote firearms safety with local youth groups. Gun owners can now lock up their weapons at no cost. This is being done to encourage residents to recognize that having a weapon in their house, especially when young children are around, represents an enormous danger.

All children age 12 and under should be buckled up and ride in the back seat. Children 4 and under are required to be buckled in a proper child safety seat. An educational program and free safety seats are provided through Andrews EMS, funding through a State grant in conjunction with "Safe Riders". Talk to Joyce Boren (432-523-5676) if you are interested in learning more about this program. |
